A globalisation index may assess which aspects?

Language, signage, businesses, and people

Globalisation is about how connected a place is to the rest of the world through cultural, economic, and social links. The aspects that best reflect this connectivity are language, signage, businesses, and people. Language shows how easily people can communicate and participate in international networks; signage often reveals multinational brands and multilingual information, signaling outward ties to global markets; businesses point to foreign trade, multinational corporations, and global supply chains; and the movement of people—through migration, travel, and tourism—illustrates international contact and exchange. Together, these elements capture the living links that make a country or region part of a global system.

Topography and soils are about physical features of the land, climate and rainfall describe environmental conditions, and population age structure is a demographic characteristic that doesn’t directly measure global connectedness.
